What I wish someone had told me about “high-energy” dogs:

My first dog was a high-energy German Shepherd.

He woke up at 5am barking in his crate.
He ran the house.
He barked at my other dogs.
He begged to play nonstop.
And when he was tired… he whined constantly.

I did what everyone told me to do:
more walks
more training
more enrichment
more play

His entire day revolved around activity.

But here’s what no one told me:

He didn’t need more exercise.
He needed to learn how to settle.

I didn’t understand that at the time — and because of that, I eventually made the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. That’s something I still carry with me.

Later, when I finally learned how to teach calmness and impulse control, everything clicked. I started seeing the same pattern over and over again — especially with teenage puppies and “high-energy” dogs.

They aren’t bad.
They aren’t broken.
They’re overstimulated and don't know how to rest.

That’s why I created The Chill Dog Blueprint

This guide exists so you don’t have to learn the hard way like I did.

It gives you a clear, realistic system to help your dog:

  • settle without being exhausted

  • stop demanding constant stimulation

  • regulate their energy

  • and actually relax in your home

Even if they’re intense, vocal, or “a lot.”

This does not require extra time

This part matters — because most people are already overwhelmed.

You do not need to set aside special training sessions.
You do not need to spend hours a day working your dog.
You do not need perfect consistency.

The strategies in this guide fit into things you already do:

  • walks

  • play

  • meals

  • downtime

  • normal daily interactions

You’re not adding work — you’re changing how you use the moments you already have.

Most progress comes from small shifts in timing, structure, and expectations.

What you’ll learn inside:

✓ A simple daily structure that creates calm
✓ How to reduce overexcitement without punishing your dog
✓ A step-by-step calm cue you can teach right away
✓ How to play without creating chaos
✓ When enrichment helps — and when it makes things worse
✓ The Needs-Met checklist that changes behavior fast
✓ A progress tracker so you can see improvement

This is for you if…

You love your dog — but you’re exhausted.

If you’re worried their energy will never settle.
If you’re dealing with a teenage phase that feels unmanageable.
If you want a calm, livable dog instead of constant chaos.

You don’t need more tricks.
You need a plan.
